Episteme

Episteme is a dark romance speculative science fiction set in the near future of Washington, DC in a world where everyone wears holographic masks.

Dior Barnes founded Episteme, Inc. with Edward Gareau and Charvian Willaims, known by their mask personas: Lioness, Fox, and Owl, to create TAD. The small device implanted to a persons’ temple gives a person a holographic mask and access to technology with a mere thought. The three seek to use their device to control a person’s mind. If only Edward had not decided to propose marriage to her with all cameras recording and use the dreaded words, “I love you.” What was he thinking? Although Edward is a talented hacker, inventor of TAD, and owner of a trillion-dollar corporation, Dior’s father only sees Edward as paultry trash. Now, Dior must balance her father’s expectations, a jealous niece, and lobbying efforts with her potential feelings for Edward because maybe she is in love with him. Oh, and let’s not forget terrorist threats.

Tabby Leonard finds herself in the middle of a resistance with no memories of her past after her TAD removal. She sees a world with everyone wearing holographic masks and learns quickly that the technology purported as the next great American advancement is not as it seems. As she tries to recover her memories, she works with Ravi Banerjee and the group known as Aegis to reveal the truth of Episteme and kill a federal privacy bill that if signed into law will legalize Episteme’s nefarious activities. Unbeknownst to Tabby, her memory loss is a blessing in disguise because her ties to Lioness, Fox, and Owl are more personal than she ever could have imagined.
